Monday Inspiration

Mondays are always a drag. After a lovely weekend of catching up with friends & relaxing, there's nothing worst than having to get out of bed at 6am to get to class on time. Everything seems stressful - choosing what to wear, being stuck in traffic, and trying to listen in class when I'd much rather still be asleep in bed. I always need a little extra motivation to get back into the swing of things at the beginning of the week.

Here are my inspirational picks for today:

The Denim Shirt:
Perfect for the spring months! I'm still on the hunt for the perfect one.

Valentino Red Top
Net-a-porter
Casual with a hint of tulle to add some glamour!

Mary-Kate Olsen's Kimono Ensemble:
Olsens Anonymous
I just adore her style. She is so adventurous, original & theatrical. I love that she wears what she feels like and takes risks, rather than playing it safe. The outfit is amazing, well accessorised, except for the white bag (I don't think it goes). She just knows how to put an amazing outfit together, which despite being out-there still has a touch of elegance by adding items like a simple Louboutin shoe . Her wavy hair is gorgeous in this!

Eat, Pray, Love Film
I've heard the book this film is based on is fantastic. I've never gotten round to reading it, but I'm very keen to check out the film when it gets released here in Australia on October 7. Julia Roberts is such a fantastic actress so I'm sure I won't be disappointed.

Blog Crush: Columbine Smille

I saw pics of swedish blogger, Columbine Smille, on Knightcat & Wildfox and just had to check out her blog. She is an assistant fashion stylist and her style is undoubtedly impeccable. She ticks all my boxes - on-trend, original, a little eccentric and effortlessly chic. Her wardrobe is amazing - lots of denim, basic t-shits, tailored pieces, fantastic sandals & boots and chic dresses, with the perfect amount of colour (wine & pinks seem to be her favs).  I just wish there was an English translation of her blog so I could actually understand what this amazing fashionista is writing! Nevertheless, her pics are filled with loads of fashion inspiration. Here are some of my fav looks of hers:

Red heels

Love the grey and that leather jacket is the most amazing shade of grey/olive/brown

So chic!

Perfect summer look - loving the magenta!

Love the olive jersey skirt & espadrille boots

Gorgeous velvet heels glam up an otherwise casual look

Summer evening outfit perfection :)

Love it!

My latest muse - Christine Centenera

I get inspiration for my outfits from all over the place - characters in movies, the runway, magazine editorials, people I see on the streets, the odd celebrity etc. Lately, I've been inspired by Christine Centenera's ensembles at various fashion events. After doing a little research I found out that she is Australian, started working at Cosmopolitan Magazine and now splits her time working as a fashion director for Harper's Bazaar Australia and a freelance stylist and also DJ's from time to time. In other words, her outfits aren't the only impressive thing about her. She has encouraged me to try wearing baggy paints, to wear a sheer black top tucked into skinny trousers, experiment with emblished neckpieces, to use a white t-shirt as a layer under what would normally be an evening unfit to make it more casual for daytime wear and get some extra wear out of all those blazers and fur coats in my closest. I'm looking forward to see what she comes up with in the future and I will be keeping an eye open for editorials styled by her.
