Elie Saab Haute Couture S/S 2011

hôtel de mode favourite - obsessed with splits in long dresses & skirts at the moment!

So sweet

Oh that beading!

Stunning V back & train

Elis Saab Haute Couture S/S 2011

My favourite haute couture designer has to be Elie Saab. Season after season he comes up with the most glamourous yet sophisticated gowns. This collection is everything that I love - lace, beading & sheer fabrics teamed with simple hair & makeup. Loving the colour pallet too. I love getting all dressed up and glamourous - any excuse will do! Right now I'm obsessed with splits in long dresses and skirts and am looking for something of the like for a few upcoming events. I'm well and truly over the mini trend. Nothing like getting a little fashion inspiration from the Paris haute couture shows...

Jason Wu Fall 2011 | New York Fashion Week

Loving the lace detail on the sweater for a sophisticated, yet still rather relaxed look.

Dot stocking are now on my fall shopping list.

DIY idea - Add a bow ribbon around the neck around a shirt or blouse.

Adorable! Loving the lace across the face too.

 Ah that coat!

 The perfect silhouette

Jason Wu Fall 2011

I could spend all day looking at this collection. It's as though all my favourites have been combined - delicate lace, Swarovski crystals, ostrich feathers, silk blouses, high waited skirts, thin-belted waists, blazers & chic court shoes. Jason Wu's fall collection is sophisticated & dramatic, yet very wearable. It's rare I find a collection where I love and would wear every look. I'm feeling incredibly inspired and excited for the cooler months ahead! Definitely one of my favourite collections for the fall season.

Marchesa Spring 2011 Preview

It doesn't get more luxurious than Marchesa when it comes to evening wear. The label is named after eccentric Italian heiress Marchesa Luisa Casati, who considered herself a living work of art. The duo behind the label, Georgina Chapman and Karen Craig, met at the Chelsea College of Art and Design in London. They are famous for their theatrical/ costume inspired designs encompassing luxe fabrics, feathers and embellishment. Their celebrity clients include Jennifer Lopez, Blake Lively, Eva Longoria and many other A listers. As can be seen from the mood walls above, designers Chapman and Craig get inspiration from a variety of sources, most notably traditional dress from exotic countries such as China & India. You can see Marchesa's high attention to detail with the intricate beading on garments like the one above. The silhouette of the navy dress with the floral pattern is out of this world. I can't wait to see the completed collection!
