The Cleveland Cavaliers have added some depth on the wings by signing Joey Graham. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Breakdown
The acquisition of Graham gives the Cavs another player who can play SF, a position they need to fill with the loss of LeBron James. At this point, I feel Antawn Jamison will get the nod at SF and J.J. Hickson will be alongside him at PF. Jamison, though, has played mainly the 4 in his last few years with Washington and Cleveland. Given that he's 34, he may have slowed down too much to guard an NBA SF. If this is the case and the Cavaliers decide to keep him at PF, this potentially opens up a starting spot at the other forward position unless they feel Hickson is athletic enough to guard SFs.
Either way, Graham is going to be battling Jamario Moon for the minutes available at SF. Both players have a chance for an increased role next season, but we'll have to wait and see how things look in training camp and preseason so we can better gauge which player will have the bigger role on the team. Even with a starting spot, Graham or Moon would still have to be considered deep league options. If either player could get starter's minutes, though, they'd be bigger factors in fantasy than they've been in previous years.
